About Us

The Otologic Function unit at Mount Sinai Hospital has been involved in newborn and infant hearing screening and testing since 1981. The unit worked with the government to develop the Ontario Infant Hearing Program and continues to have strong involvement in its implementation, including training and quality management.

The Ontario Infant Hearing Program was announced by the Ontario government in 2000.  The program went into effect in Spring, 2002.
